Family Life - August 2019
It was a glorious hot sunny day for my photo shoot in dad's garden this weekend and there was plenty of bird life making plenty of noise beneath the beautiful blue skies.
This group of Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris) were chattering away at the top of this tree for quite a while before zooming off to have their conversation elsewhere.
Goldfinch Group - August 2019
They were soon replaced by this group of Goldfinches (Carduelis carduelis) which were flitting from treetop to treetop all morning, singing constantly as they flew.
Awakening - August 2019
Turning my lens towards some floral subjects led me to this Sunflower (Helianthus), which had arrived in the garden unexpectedly from some scattered bird seed.
Begonia Centre - August 2019
There were several types of Begonia currently flowering, with this large trailing variety being the latest one to burst into bloom.
Oxeye - August 2019
The Oxeye Daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare) continued to bloom freely, and had populated almost every corner of the garden.
Bright Blue Beginnings - August 2019
The Lacecap Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) bushes intrigued me this week, with one bush in particular having branches full of new blooms...
Fading Fast - August 2019
...while other branches displayed bracts that were showing some distinct autumnal colouring.
Dahlia Abstraction - August 2019
The Dahlias continued to put on a wonderful display, with white ones...
Rich Red Dahlia - August 2019
...this wonderfully rich red looking one...
Bright Red Bishop - August 2019
...and the bright red of 'Bishop of Llandaff' all looking beautiful.
Bramble Berries - August 2019
Finally the Bramble (Rubus fruticosus) bushes continued to produce fruit which would eventually be snapped up by some hungry critter.
So this week I went with Family Life as my Image of the Week simply because I liked how the Starlings were all lined up on the branch of the tree...
