Bright Begonia - October 2020
I only had time for a quick photo shoot in my garden this week where colourful attractions were few and far between.
Thankfully, the Begonias were still going strong, and were adding lots of brightness to an otherwise damp dull overcast day.
Michaelmas Daisy - October 2020
There were only a couple of blooms left on my Michaelmas Daisies (Aster frikartii 'Monch'). This was usually one of my best flowering plants, but it been quite disappointing this year for some reason.
Wet Wallflower - October 2020
On the other hand, my Wallflowers (Erysimum) had been amazing this year. This particular plant had started flowering back in January, and was still producing blooms!
Pink Godetia - October 2020
There were only a handful of the Godetia (Clarkia amoena) blooms left now, and no buds left to open. They'd been another good addition to the garden though, and I'd definitely try them again next year.
Ornithogalum Saundersiae - October 2020
The Ornithogalum saundersiae blooms continued to surprise me as I thought they'd only be around for a couple of weeks, but they were still looking rather pretty after a month in bloom.
Budding Passion Flower - October 2020
Finally, it looked like my Common Passion Flower (Passiflora caerulea) would be flowering soon. There were several of these large flower buds making their way across my shed roof, so I had my fingers crossed that the flowers would emerge sometime soon.
So this week I went with Bright Begonia as my Image of the Week simply because it brought a bit of colour into a garden that was desperately in need of it...
