Small Bee - September 2015
Another week and another crop of images from my image archive. This week all of the images come from September back in 2015.
My favourite of the bunch this week is this one of a small Bee collecting pollen from a beautiful blue Michaelmas Daisy (Aster frikartii 'Monch').
Underslung - September 2015
A close second is this one of a Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus) walking along a single strand of silk that was linking two branches together.
It's all in the Eyes - September 2015
Next up is a face to face meeting with a Hoverfly (Syrphidae) taking in some autumn sunshine while resting on a Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) bush.
Pretty Collector - September 2015
I seem to remember there being lots of Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) butterflies that year, with many of them preferring to collect pollen from this yellow Butterfly Bush (Buddleia).
Busy Bee - September 2015
It wasn't just the butterflies visiting the Butterfly Bush, as there were plenty of other insects, such as this rather large Bumblebee (Bombus).
Bulb Storage - September 2015
It'll soon be time to start planting up spring bulbs, and back in 2015 I had quite a large collection of Hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis) bulbs to get potted up.
Supermoon - September 2015
Finally, here's a shot of the Supermoon that occurred in September 2015. If you want to photograph the next Supermoon, you'll have to wait until next year, when it will occur on the 14th June 2022.
So this week I went with Small Bee as my Image of the Week simply because I thought it was a good macro image that showed off the details of the Bee and the beauty of the flower...
