Green Tail - September 2021
This has been another week where I decided to combine my two hobbies of photography and fish keeping to create my Image of the Week article.
This colourful creature is a Male Guppy (Poecilia reticulata). I have half a dozen of them vying for attention in a 90 litre tank, but often wonder how fantastic a hundred of them would look in a 300 litre tank. Maybe one day I'll find out!
Endler - September 2021
Some who follow my weekly photo blog may remember Elvis the Endler (Poecilia wingei)? He was the tiny fish that hitched a ride out of the shop, unbeknownst to me, inside a bag of other fish. That was back in 2017, but back in the here and now, I've got a small group of similar fish, although these came out of the shop intentionally.
Multifasciatus - September 2021
Meanwhile my small group of shell dwelling Neolamprologus multifasciatus are doing well, and have become very territorial about their residence. This one was even challenging me as I took his picture.
Platy - September 2021
My rescue Platy (Xiphophorus) is now doing very well, and is eating all sorts of food now, after initially only taking flake, and only then in very small amounts. The addition of the four female Sunset Platies has definitely given him some confidence and he no longer stays hidden for most of the day.
CPD - September 2021
Finally, I had another go at capturing the beauty of the tiny Celestial Pearl Danio (Danio margaritatus). I was mostly pleased with how this shot came out, but it's still not as sharp as I'd have liked it.
So this week I went with Green Tail as my Image of the Week simply because I absolutely loved the colours the little fish was displaying...
